
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that extreme poverty has been eradicated in Kerala and that the state is on a steady path to achieve economic standards at the level of the world’s leading middle-income countries.
He emphasized that sustained investment in education, health care, food security, housing, social protection and local government has created a society characterized by skills, self-reliance and dignity.
Addressing leading industrialists from across South India at the sixth meeting of the CII South Regional Council in Kovalam recently, Mr. Vijayan said that over 7,500 start-ups have been established in Kerala in the last decade. According to a press release, the Chief Minister also mentioned the successful Invest Kerala 2025 Global Summit, which he said has attracted investment commitments worth ₹ 2 lakh crore, a significant portion of which has already been initiated.
In the last 10 years, nearly 3,500 acres of industrial parks have been developed and are nearing completion. Kerala is also emerging as a major hub for manufacturing medical devices and accounts for 42% of India’s share in this segment, Mr. Vijayan said.
