The Indian Association for Automotive Indust Research, India, the Ministry of Research Authority of heavy industries, certified the electric vehicle charger (EV) developed by start-up incubated at the Indian Institute of Technological Madras (IIT-M). Start-up, Plugzmart, has developed a quick EV charger for heavy vehicles and is the first start-up in India, which has received a certification from the association.
The native EV charger has its own controller and PLC modules that were made in India. Hardware and software 240kW DC Fast Charger has been developed internally. In 20 minutes it can charge top cars and heavy vehicles, which ensures high efficiency, reliability and adherence to Indian and international safety standards. The intelligent energy distribution system optimizes energy use and prevents the grid from overload.
Vivek Samnathan, founder and CEO of Plugzmart, said: “Our modules of the indigenous and PLC can play a key role in reducing the country’s import in the EV sector.”
The charger contains optimization of controlled artificial intelligence that predicts and prevents the charger from failing and ensures a high time. It also supports multiple vehicles at the same time, so it is ideal for places with high demand. The EV charging sector is part of the wider ecosystem of electric vehicles that is growing rapidly in India. The demand for efficient and available EV charging infrastructure increases with India, which promotes cleaner energy and transport solutions.
