Chief Minister MK Stalin visited his Kolathur Assembly constituency on Tuesday where he inaugurated the projects and also unveiled the foundations for other projects.
Mr. Stalin inaugurated the Sewage Pumping Station set up by the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) with H2S emission assessment equipment and also integrated with IoT based automated system. Set at ₹ 2.82 crore, the station is located at Siva Elango Salai.
He also unveiled the foundation stone for the construction of rainwater harvesting facility, footpath, badminton court, recreational facilities among others at Jawahar Nagar on Siva Elango Salai. All these facilities are to be set up at a total cost of ₹ 3.45 crore, an official release said.
Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Minister PK Sekarbabu, Chennai Mayor R. Priya, Chennai Central MP Dayanidhi Maran; Lawmakers Thayagam Kavi, A. Vetriazhagan, Joseph Samuel and senior officials were among those present.
He also inaugurated and inspected the newly constructed Integrated Police Services Complex built with modern facilities which houses the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police Kolathur and other offices.
The four-storied complex includes facilities such as a reception hall, computer rooms, record stores, armoury, property room, lock-up, canteen, conference hall, police personnel rest rooms and a recreation hall.
The integrated police offices functioning in the building located at Peravalur on 70 feet road include Kolathur Deputy District Commissioner of Police Office, Kolathur Range Deputy Commissioner Office, Law and Order and Crime Police Station K-5 Peravalur, Police Station W-38 Kolathur All Women Police Station (AWPS), Kolathur Traffic Unit, Kolathur Police Precinct, Kolathur W Police Station and Cyber Craffic Investigating Inspectorate Office of Serious Crime Division West Zone.
Director General of Police (in-charge) G. Venkataraman and Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A. Arun honored the Chief Minister with a shawl and presented him with a memento.
