BJP members tried to attack the Zilla Panchayat office in Belagavi on Friday to protest the alleged corruption in the divided houses of the subsidized houses.
The demonstrators gathered in the Rani Channamma circle. They raised slogans such as “Houses for corrupt, poor people on the street”.
They went to the office of Zilla Panchayat and organized a protest in front of it. When they tried to enter the office forcibly, the police stopped them. Demonstrators were taken into custody and released later.
The President of the District Party Subhash Patil claimed that the Minister of Housing BZ Zemeer Ahmed Khan is corrupt and practically sells houses to the rich to distribute them among the poor.
He demanded the resignation of the main Minister Siddaramaiaha, Deputy Minister of DK Shivakumar and Mr. Khan.
Murgegouda Pedil Pedil accused the state government of giving corruption and stated that it had reached an unprecedented level. He called on the governor to reject the government of the congress.
The leaders such as Geeta Sutar, Sandeep Deshpande, Sancalp Shettar, Dhanashree Desai, Sonali Sarnobat, Malikarjun Danammanavar, Manoj Patil, Hanumant Kongali, Jyoti Shetta, Shweth Jagadale were present.
