The stage is set for the launch of the prestigious Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 on Monday amid a spate of flight cancellations that are having a major impact on inbound and outbound air travelers in the state.
The summit, authored by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was conceived purely as an economic event showcasing the potential and opportunities that Telangana offers to domestic as well as global industrial companies.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma will formally inaugurate the summit at Bharat Future City, followed by a speech by the Chief Minister explaining the highlights of the global event, the first major event in Telangana in several years.
Various sessions
The summit is divided into various sessions where participants will discuss important aspects related to the state’s transition to a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047. During the event, issues related to semiconductor and frontier technologies, the state as a global education hub and the rise of aerospace and defense, as well as accessible, affordable and equitable healthcare for all, will be discussed at length.
Representatives from global majors such as Sembcorp, McKinsey and Analog AI as well as the World Bank and Asian Development Bank are expected to attend the event to discuss Telangana Rising – 2047, a vision document outlining a plan to achieve accelerated growth over the next two decades. Billed as a purely economic summit, the event will focus on ‘Film in Telangana’, which aims to put the state at the forefront of the country’s creative economy. The initiative would bring together some of the nation’s most influential voices for “one country, many cinemas”.
There will be a session on Genome Valley and Beyond: Accelerating innovation in life sciences. TG’s bid for Olympic gold will showcase the state’s efforts to build on medical infrastructure as well as focus on sports infrastructure.
Discussion of the future city
The highlight of the global summit will be a discussion on Bharat Future City, a proposed net-zero city where action is being taken as a magnet for a $3 trillion economy. Considerations are therefore spread over various related aspects, such as building the state’s business ecosystem: Ease of Doing Business 2.0, fast-growing global centers of competence, and innovative PPPs: leveraging private capital for public good workers.
In addition to discussions on further strengthening the startup ecosystem, participants will discuss capital and growth: investment avenues, financial center strategy and high-impact sectors. The meeting will be followed by the unveiling of the vision document and a drone show.
The Chief Minister, who is watching the measures personally, revealed his intention to showcase the scale and success of the event at the World Economic Forum in Davos in the coming days.
