To spread awareness about ethical voting, Blessy, a Class X student from Suddala village in Rajanna Sircilla district, put up a banner outside her house against bribing voters in the form of cash or donations ahead of the next Gram Panchayat elections.
A student of the Telangana Social Welfare Girls Residential School in Baddenapally, Blessy is known for her active role in spreading environmental protection campaigns led by her nature enthusiast father Prakash.
Her family’s green initiatives, such as making seed balls and scattering them in the fringe areas of the forest, have gained wide recognition in the past.
A banner outside Prakash’s house in Suddala village reads: “We will not sell our votes. We believe in the potential of voting to lead to the development of our village and the country as a whole.”
“Those who lure voters with money or alcohol do not come to our house,” read a banner emphasizing ethical voting to strengthen democracy.
