
With the SSC exams set to begin on Monday, the offices of education, police and finance departments in Nandyal, Kurnool and Anantapur districts have completed all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the exams.
In Anantapur district, as many as 31,972 students including 16,402 girls and 15,570 boys will appear for the examinations in the regular mode, apart from more than 1,200 private students. The exams will be held in 143 exam centers from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) will allow students appearing for the SSC examinations to travel free in its buses during the examination period. District Education Officer M. Prasad Babu said, “We have set up a control room – contact number 7799465363 – to help students and parents with exam-related information.”
A total of 37,331 students will take the exams in Kurnool district which are being held in 160 centres. Collector A. Siri said, “Prohibitions have been imposed at the examination centers to prevent gathering of people. Arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted power supply and drinking water. ORS packets will be provided to those appearing for the exams. Medical personnel and medicines will also be available at the examination centers due to the hot weather.”
She added that students and invigilators will not be allowed to bring any electronic devices to the examination centers.
Nandyal Collector Rajakumari Ganiya said that 25,035 students will appear for the examination in the district. She asked the students to reach the exam center well in advance and told the students to write the exams neatly to improve their chances of getting better marks.
