
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala for collaboration in technical education, research, faculty development and academic exchange.
According to the MoU, the institutions will collaborate on academic and research activities, including the exchange of faculty, students and scientific resources, and organize joint seminars, workshops, conferences and professional lectures. They will also collaborate in new technology areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, automation and green energy, the press release said.
The agreement will provide higher education opportunities for Indian Navy personnel with up to eight M.Tech seats per year and up to six PhD seats per year at SRMIST. In addition, faculty from the Naval Academy could serve as co-guides for doctoral students.
The MoU was signed by Captain G. Sowjanya Sree, Registrar (AoD), Indian Naval Academy, and S. Ponnusamy, Registrar, SRMIST, in the presence of Rear Admiral G. Rambabu, Director, Indian Naval Academy, and C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice-Chancellor, SRMIST.
