The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) honored leading scientists in the field of advanced materials research at the Second International Conference on Advanced Functional Materials and Devices organized by its Center for Nanotechnology Research.
The awardees included Ramaswamy Murugavel of IIT Bombay, Srinivasan Natarajan of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, Kanishka Biswas of the Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru and S. Balakumar of the University of Madras.
In the international section, Naoki Wakiya from Shizuoka University in Japan was awarded for his work on ceramic materials, his colleague Yoshimasa Kawata for his contribution to materials science and global research collaboration, and Judy Z. Wu from the University of Kansas, USA, for his contribution to materials science.
Speakers were R. Balamuralikrishnan, Director, Defense Metallurgical Research Laboratory, DRDO, Krishnan Sadagopan, Senior Vice President – R&D, Ashok Leyland, and C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST.
