The last Monday of the auspicious ‘Karthika Masam’ attracted a large number of devotees to Srisailam, home of the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple and other Lord Shiva temples in both Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
Lakhs of devotees offered prayers at the Srisailam temple and took a sacred dip in the Krishna river at Patalaganga. Women lit and floated ‘Karthika Deepams’ in the river.
The Srisailam temple management made elaborate arrangements for the devotees and ensured a hassle-free darshan. Some rituals were canceled to facilitate faster darshan for devotees while refreshments were served in queues. Special arrangements have been made for devotees to light Karthika Deepams at North Mada Street and also at Gangadhara Mandapam. Annaprasadam and refreshments were served in the Annaprasadam complex while laddus were sold at 10 counters.
‘Pushkarini Harathi’ and ‘Lakshadeepotsavam’ lit up the temple town and devotees participated in the events with religious fervour.
