The annual Srikalahastheeswara Swamy Brahmotsavam will be conducted in a grand manner and in accordance with Agamic principles, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said on Friday (February 6, 2026).
Attending a review meeting at the temple in Srikalahasti town ahead of the grand festival that runs parallel to ‘Mahasivaratri’, the minister said that the primary objective of the administrators of the event will be to follow Agamic principles and uphold the norms, in letter and spirit, as laid down in the doctrines of Sanatana Dharma.
“The state government has decided to organize the event in a grand manner at Srikalahasti, which is one of the major Saiva temples in Andhra Pradesh. However, grandeur will not come in the way of religious observance of the doctrine of worship,” the minister said.
In view of the heavy rush expected to throng the temple during the festival, Mr. Reddy said two special queues would be allowed for darshans with a ticket of ₹200 and ₹500, while a free queue would also be available for general pilgrims.
Principal Secretary (Foundations) Hari Jawaharlal said more volunteers would be assembled this time to help manage the queues and serve the incoming pilgrims, while Collector S. Venkateswar assured that the scale of the celebrations would definitely be bigger than last year.
Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy offered to distribute pocket calendars and ‘mini Pasupu Kunkuma Prasadam’ to all devotees who visit the shrine during the event.
Endowment Commissioner Ramachandra Mohan announced that steps would be taken to popularize the event in other states.
Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu said the entire area of the temple would be covered by CCTV and surveillance strengthened by command management to avoid any untoward incident.
Temple Trust Chairman Kotte Saiprasad and Managing Director T. Bapi Reddy were present.
