
The district collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar said on Friday (September 5, 2025) that the district had enough fertilizers and in any district’s seat there was no lack of urea and other fertilizers. He said that 24,421 metric tons of urea were delivered and 1,070 tonnes were easily available for further distribution.
When he talked to the media, he said that Coromandel Company would send a district of 900 metric tons of urea to meet its agricultural needs in the Kharif season.
Due to continuous rains, agricultural activity in the district has risen and sowing has so far carried out 4.07 lakh acres. In June and July, there was no demand due to collisions these months in June and July. However, the demand of farmers has increased sharply since August. The District Administration supplies fertilizers via Rythh Seva Kendras, a cooperative company and a private dealer.
Mr. Dinakar made it clear that the government would take strict measures and cancel the licenses of private retailers if they were selling urea at a higher rate than in a fixed government. He ordered agriculture and marketing officials to regularly check storage points and regularly verify the position of shares to prevent incorrect practices in the sale of fertilizers.
