Sri Venkateswara University launches e-studio

Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati has built a state-of-the-art e-studio for recording official lectures and digital educational content delivered by professors, industry experts and invited guests.

Approved under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA), the lab will primarily be used for recording NPTEL courses, online diplomas and web-based structured lectures, in addition to creating podcasts.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tata Narasinga Rao in the presence of Registrar Prof. M. Bhupathi Naidu and RUSA coordinators formally inaugurated the facility. The facility has a virtual production studio, an AR-VR studio, a podcast studio with high-speed video conferencing, lecture capture systems and acoustic treatment designed for live broadcasting and recording of technical lectures.

Prof. Narasinga Rao also visited the Center of Excellence in Bioenergy Innovations on campus to see a demonstration of the newly installed BET Surface Area Analyser. The instrument enables accurate analysis of the specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size distribution of materials, and has wide applications in bioenergy, nanotechnology, material science, etc.

Meanwhile, SVU received certification covering educational services, energy management, environmental management and gender sensitization along with accreditation for its virology laboratories.

HYM International Certifications has issued ISO 21001:2018 (educational services), ISO 50001:2018 (energy saving procedures) and ISO 14001:2015 (green and environmental protection) certificates. The University has also received a Gender Sensitization Audit Certificate on facilities for women related to safety, security, counseling and common rooms.

Similarly, the university’s virology laboratories have received ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from Global Accreditation Services (GAS) for microbiological and biological testing activities of soil, water, food and environmental samples.
