Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Director Anil Kumar Singhal said on Monday that the construction of Sri Venkateswara temples in various states across the country will help in spreading the tradition of bhakti and strengthening devotional practices among devotees.
Reviewing the various activities with senior officials in his chamber at the administration building here, Mr. Singhal said that respective state governments have given approvals and allotted land for construction of temples in Guwahati in Assam, Patna in Bihar, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Belgaum in Karnataka.
He said that the temples were occupied across the country on the instructions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and stressed the need to discuss with the concerned state authorities to take over the allotted land before the upcoming TTD board meeting.
On infrastructure, the chief executive has instructed engineers to carry out a detailed inspection of the dilapidated Pilgrim Amenities Complex in Rishikesh and prepare an action plan for the construction of a new complex by February.
On the manpower front, Mr. Singhal directed that orders be issued for the appointment of 536 selected Veda Parayanadars in various temples. He recalled that 164 Veda Parayanadar posts have already been filled in TTD temples. He also directed the officials to conduct online examinations in April to fill the vacancies of Assistant Engineer in Engineering Wing.
It was decided to organize training programs in three phases for 150 Archak workers and 68 Pot workers during February. Noting that Annadanam is currently being conducted in 56 temples under TTD, the chief executive directed officials to prepare plans to implement Annadanam twice a day in all temples by March.
