Anura Karunathilak, Sri Lankan Minister for City, Construction and Housing, was looking for cross -border cooperation in public transport and fixed waste management.
When on Saturday (September 13) he dealt with the interaction at the National Technology Institute, Calicut (Nit-C) in Chathamangalam, he said that for his government, the areas of “critical priorities” are. “These are complex global problems that require cooperation solutions … No single entity can solve them in isolation,” Karunathilaka said. He expressed a great interest in monitoring mutual interests with NIT-C. This is his third visit to the institution. Mr. Karunathilak also spoke of urgent concerns that his government, such as unplanned settlements, challenges for urban planning, public housing and pressures in the city population. The meeting was aimed at supporting dialogue and exploring paths for future cooperation between Sri Lanka and Nit-C. Prasad Krishna, Director, Nit-C, Satyanad Panda, Dean (Bed Students) and Mrs. Sunitha, registrar (posted) together with members of the faculty were present.
