On Wednesday morning a decomposed body of a forty -year -old man was found inside the blue drum in the Ludhian Sherpur area. Ragpickers discovered the body after noticing a strong disgusting odor coming from an abandoned drum located in an unoccupied plot and caused cold memories of the sensational case of the murder of Meerut.
According to the News18 report, the Police of Division visited the scene and said the body was packed in a leaf closed in a plastic bag with a gun, neck and legs tightly tied by a rope.
This discovery comes months after the case of a high profile murder, when a former sales officer was reportedly stabbed to death, his body was chopped and hidden in a similar drum.

“The deceased appears to be a migrant based on the facial characteristics. As a result of a deteriorated state, there are no injuries, but the posthumous mortar will determine the exact cause of death,” said the news18 Inspector Kulwant Kaur, Station House (SHE).
Investigators kept a list of 42 drum units in the city, increasing the suspicion that the drum has been newly purchased, indicating the purpose of destruction of the body. Police filed a case of murder against unknown persons and launched a probe to identify victims and murderers. “There is a suspicion that the drum has been freshly purchased before killing,” India quoted police resources today.
