Speed up pace of Amaravati construction work, Andhra CM Naidu asks contracting agencies
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials and construction agencies to speed up the pace of work in Amaravati and ensure that projects worth ₹2,000 crore are implemented every month.
Mr. Naidu held a review meeting on the progress of Amaravati capital works with officials and representatives of contracting agencies at his Camp Office on Tuesday.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said 152 projects have been launched in the National Capital Region and around 41,000 workers are currently engaged in the work.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that during the previous month, works worth ₹1,345 crore had been carried out. Mr. Naidu directed them to increase the monthly execution value to ₹ 2,000 crore through better planning and coordination.
The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project through coordination with the Centre. He emphasized that there should be no laxity or carelessness in the execution of capital works and called for timely completion while maintaining quality.
Assessing the progress of the iconic buildings, Mr. Naidu said there should be no delay in their construction. He emphasized that the secretariat towers and the assembly building should have an iconic character.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the need to impart modern skills to construction workers on the lines of the National Academy of Construction.
