
The Railway Board has approved special train services and made provision for additional coaches in high-traffic trains to meet increased travel demand and provide better connectivity from major cities to destinations in Thiruvananthapuram division, a recent statement said.
According to a board statement, Train No. 06107 Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram North Express Special will depart Chennai Egmore on Monday (December 8) at 1:50 PM and arrive Thiruvananthapuram North at 8:00 AM the next day.
In addition, selected train services will be equipped with additional cars to remove the increased rush of passengers. Train No. 12695 MGR Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express will be temporarily provided with one extra sleeper class coach till December 11. Train No. 12696 Thiruvananthapuram Central-MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express will also be temporarily provided with one extra sleeper class coach till December 12.
Train No. 20635 Chennai Egmore-Kollam Junction Anantapuri Express has been temporarily fitted with one more sleeper coach. Train No. Train No. 20636 Kollam-Chennai Egmore Anantapuri Express, which will start its journey on December 9, will also be temporarily equipped with one extra sleeper class coach. Train No. 22639 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Alappuzha Superfast Express and Train No. 22640 Alappuzha-Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Express have been temporarily equipped with one additional sleeper coach. Train No. 12076 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kozhikode Janshatabdi Express and Train No. 12075 Kozhikode-Thiruvananthapuram Central Janshatabdi Express will temporarily run one additional coach until December 11.
