Amanda Anisim’s may have lasted one of the most difficult finals in the history of the Grand Slam, but left with no one but Rafael Nadal.
The American dream in Wimbledon 2025 ended with heart after it was comprehensively defeated 6-0, 6-0 IgA Swiatlek in the final of the women’s singles at Court. The one-time result achieved subtitles, because in the Wimbledon Singles finals in the Wimbledon-Panian or Female-Open era final, the first double bagel was identified. The match lasted only 57 minutes.
Swiatle, now six -time Grand Slam champion, was in ruthless form and gave Anisim’s no breathing space. The pole released 25 flawless minutes in the first set, broke three times and gained 14 out of the last 15 points to pack the second set as clinically.
But while the result board was brutal, Anisim’s calm was widely appreciated – And it wasn’t unnoticed by the legend of the game. Rafael Nadal, who knows something about jumping from hard losses, stretched a personal message on the social media. The Spanish icon urged Anisimov to be proud of her run, and reminded her of what it means to achieve the Grand Slam final – a success that has little in tennis when she experienced.
“Be proud, Anisim’s Amanda! Grand Slam finalist!” Nadal wrote on his post.
Anisimova, 23, got into the final high confidence after eliminating world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals. Her defeat on Saturday made her the first woman since 1911, which was closed in the Wimbledon final – a hard pill that swallows for players who first appeared in the Grand Slam final.
It was a moving gesture from one of the greatest sports whose own career was defined not only by titles, but also by resistance through failures.
Despite the disappointment, the performance of Anisimova during the fourteen days at the All England club secured his place in the center of attention. It is ready to penetrate the TOP 10 WTA for the first time in its career when new charts are released, and its future remains clear.
Meanwhile, Swiatlek finally adds to his Wimbledon Crown collection and becomes one of the rare active players who win a major on all three surfaces.
