In the Chittoor district there will be a three -phase immunization drive against measles and rubella (MR). The drive is part of the national goal to remove both diseases by 2026.
District Medical and Medical Officer (DM&M) DT Sudharani, addressing medical and medical staff, emphasized the importance of a three -phase campaign. She urged parents and school management to ensure that each child received both doses of MR vaccines.
The first phase of vaccination will start from 26 to 31 May, followed by the second phase from 23 to 28 June and the third round from 21 to 26 July.
She said: “Measles and rubles are dangerous viral infections that could lead to serious health complications such as pneumonia, diarrhea and inflammation of the brain in children, and if they were not treated, even death infections can lead to abortion or heritage such as bread, cardiac disorders. ”
The campaign will focus on vulnerable populations, such as migrant workers, slum residents and people working in brick furnaces, construction sites, fishing communities and agricultural workers.
