
The head of the state police (SPC) Ravada A. Chandrasekhar was looking for collective steps to solve drug threats and described it as an interest in national security that leaks to schools, universities and rural communities.
When he spoke of SOXTOXA analyzers, the devices for controlling the presence of drugs, the police in Kannur, he said that this year 25,000 drug cases were registered.
SPC said that drug abuse was no longer limited to dark streets, but destabilized society by corrupting youth, destroying families and supporting organized crime.
“Kerala with its high literacy must not be prey for this quiet epidemic. Along with recovery, timely detection, timely intervention and strong partnership, they are necessary,” he said.
In 2023, which emphasized the effort to enforce law, he said that in 2023 30,000 cases were found, while in 2024 27,000 cases were found only this year, the police found 3,000 Ganja cases and seized 17 kg of MDMA.
He stated that promotion of supplier chains was crucial for the suffocation of supply chains. He praised the police staff for their efforts, but emphasized the need for community participation.
SPC urged civic bodies, NGOs, educational institutions, parents, media and student police cadets to join the fight against drugs.
