Nachiket Superintendent of Police Vishwanath Shelke on Monday (March 2, 2026) reiterated the department’s commitment to ensure the safety of women and girls.
Inaugurating a rally commemorating ‘Women’s Week’ here on Monday, he recalled the focus on women’s safety during ‘Palle Nidra’, awareness drives in schools and colleges.
The rally started at Koti Reddy circle and culminated at Seven Roads junction where the participants formed a human chain. He invited the female students to participate in the elocution, essay writing, painting and drawing competitions to be held at the District Police Office on March 8 (Women’s Day).
Mr Shelke urged women and girls to dial 112 for immediate support and redress in case of any form of harassment.
Additional Superintendents K. Prakash Babu (Admin), B. Ramanaiah (Armed Reserve), Deputy Superintendents A. Venkateswarlu (Kadapa), E. Balaswamy Reddy (Women’s PS) and P. Nageswara Rao (Armed Reserve) were also present.
