To increase the comfort of passengers at the railway stations, South Western Railway (SWR) introduced “Margadarshak”, an intelligent digital navigation system.
The system was recently launched at the SSS Hubbali station. Near the entrance to the station has a 43 -inch multilingual kiosk of the touch screen. Kiosk, which acts as Google maps for the station, provides an interactive map that helps passengers to easily find platforms, legs, escalators, drinking waterpoints, waiting halls, eating stalls and other equipment.
“Passengers also have access to the service on their smartphones by scanning QR codes located via the station. This allows them to identify their location and take personal instructions step by step towards the desired destination,” said Manjunath Kanamadi.
The key features of Margadarshak include the 24/7 Self -Obsoles, Support for Kannada, English and Hindi and a virtual tour of the station. The system is designed to reduce confusion, save time and significantly improve passenger experience.
Mr. Kanamadi said that plans to expand the equipment to other key stations, including Dharwad, Balagavi, Balara, Gadag, Koppal, Bagalikta, Vijayapura and Vasco.
Another official explained that Margadarshak offers detailed 2D routes maps that help passengers navigate the station and easily plan their way. “The system also has a 360 -degree 3D view, allowing users to virtually explore the station layout for better orientation. Voice aid provides real -time, step by step, while positioning in real time and navigation blue, facilitating human location.
Official described this as an important advantage for travelers and added: “The system ensures a smooth experience for all passengers, including seniors.”
