The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) in Chennai issued an orange alert for Coimbatore and Nilgiris for four days of Tuesday (27 May 2025). There will probably be heavy to very heavy rain in several places in Nilgiris and Ghat areas of Coimbatore districts. The heavy rain was also predicted in isolated places in the districts of Tiruppur, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Erode, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri.
Light to middle rain, accompanied by a storm and lightning, is likely to occur in isolated places in the areas of Tamil Nadu, Puduchherry and Karaikal. On Monday, with the southwestern monsoon, he advanced to the other parts of the Central Arab Sea, the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some other parts of the Western Central and Northern Gulf of Bengal. Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi, Nilgiris, Thei, Tirunelvel and Tiruppur received extensive rain.
In many places in the district of Nilgiris and Ghat areas in the Coimbatore district, there was a heavy to very rain, with several places getting an extremely heavy rain.
From 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday, 41.8 mm of rainfall, the TEA Research Foundation 38 hours, NerCOil 17.5 mm, Kagamandalam 15 mm, 14 mm, Pechiparai in Canniokucucucucuciari district 11.5 mm and Coimbatore 7 mm registered.
In Nilgiris, within 24 hours, ending 8:30 on Monday, Avalanche registered 35 cm, Upper Bhavani 30 cm, Emerald 18 cm, Gudalur Bazaar 15 cm, Estate Taluk and Pandalur 14 cm; and upper Gudalur 13 cm.
