The new project comes after the introduction of the automatic signaling system from Ernacula to Vallathol Nagar.
The automatic signaling project is carried out by the joint company K-RAIL-RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, the public sector under the Ministry of Railways). Kavach is a system developed by the organization of research and standards (RDSO) for Indian railways to prevent the train collisions.
The protective system includes sensors, GPS system and communication system. This system detects the possibility of train collision over time and automatically prevents them. According to K-Rail officers, telecommunications towers and optical fiber cables will be installed within the project.
