The Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), the official Indian Railways mobile application for booking unreserved train tickets, will be discontinued with effect from March 1. This change is part of a feature update carried out by the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
A press release issued on Tuesday (February 10) said that several key features have already been disabled to ensure an orderly transition. Passengers will find that ticket reservations, new user registrations and ticket purchases on the platform no longer work in the older application.
Additionally, R-Wallet recharge has been disabled. While the UTS app may still appear in various app stores, rail officials warn that downloading or updating the software will not restore those services.
As the UTS platform matures, Southern Rail has started to redirect all passengers to the new RailOne app. Developed by CRIS, RailOne is now the primary gateway for all unreserved tickets and passenger services.
The new platform boasts several improvements over its predecessor, including a modernized user interface for faster navigation and improved security protocols for digital payments. In addition, it also has integrated passenger services designed for a smoother travel experience.
The Palakkad Division of the Southern Railway has urged the public to download the RailOne app immediately to avoid last-minute disruption to their journeys. Planning ahead and moving to the RailOne platform now will ensure ticketing arrangements remain intact when the UTS app is fully decommissioned next month.
Passengers who currently have active tickets or balances in their R-Wallet are advised to check the migration options in the RailOne app or contact the station help desk for further assistance.
