An outreach program planned by the Southern Air Command (SAC) here on October 31 will discuss logistics and mobility solutions using unmanned aerial systems for the Lakshadweep Islands.
The program, which will also include an exhibition, is planned in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
The event ‘Drone Applications for Indian Air Force Unmanned Aerial Systems for Logistics and Mobility Solutions for Islands’ will bring together stakeholders from the Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces, Coast Guard, academia and industry experts in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), a Defense spokesperson said.
The main area of action is the development of Over The Sea Cargo Drones (OTSCD).
“The objective is to discuss the development of aerial autonomous logistics and mobility solutions for Lakshadweep and Minicoy Islands through the Mehar Baba-4 competition (held in memory of Air Commodore Mehar Singh) for Oversea Cargo Drone Development (OTSCD),” the spokesperson said.
The exhibition will seek to showcase innovation and foster collaboration with stakeholders on future applications of drones, subsystems and related technologies for the use of UAS to address the logistics requirements of armed forces in island territories.
The event will enable participants to explore partnership opportunities with various IAF headquarters, government agencies and academic institutions, the spokesperson said.
