South Africa vs Australia 1st Test Day 4: Current Scores and Updates from Durban
12:26 PM IST:
Batter’s Paradise? Durban put up a lively contest and the pitch tilted to bat. The sun really burned the surface and the batsmen were enjoying the ride. But the ball is now starting to do a bit of mischief with the worn surface. Then there’s the scorecard, which makes the picture even stranger. One man has crossed fifty and it is Renshaw who made an impressive 190. Bedingham is the next best so far on 49. Renshaw’s marathon got the Aussies out of trouble. South Africa, meanwhile, had no match. Seven of their batting went past 25, but none were big. Starts everywhere, big scores nowhere, and that’s been the difference so far. Of course, they did all the basic things Australia needed to do with the ball – tight lines, safe hands, partnership bowling to coherent plans.
