
Former President Bcci and captain of the Indian team Sourav Ganguly are about to take over his first coaching role. On Sunday, August 24, the ganguly was declared as head coach Sa20 Side Pretoria Capitals before the season 2026.
The gangules will replace Jonathan Trott as a Pretorium coach after the former English dough resigned from the role on Saturday, August 23.
“The Prince is ready to bring to the main capital camp Royal Flair! We are excited to announce Sourava Ganguly as our new head coach,” wrote franchise based in Centurin on Instagram.
Together with the gangules, Pretoria Capitals also announced the appointment of Shaun Pollock as assistant coach of the side.
“The new cricket era has arrived at the capital cities! Wearing this new chapter is our new assistant coach Protean Legend Shaun Pollock,” he said on Instagram.
Ganguly’s connection with the main cities and aspirations of coaching
Gangules have long -term connections with Capitals franchise. Between 2018 and 2019, the former captain of India worked as the director of the IPL Side Delhi Capitals team and became president of BCCI.
Ganguly was appointed director of JSW Sports last year. Former President Bcci recently said that Is open to become a coach of the Indian team in the future.
“I got into various roles. After completing I became president (CAB), then the Chairman of the Board of Directors (BCCI). I never had time. But we’ll see what the future has. I am only 50 and I am open.
The first employment of the former Indian captain will be auction SA20 and rotation of wealth on the side. Last year, Capitals won only two out of 10 league games and finished fifth in the six -member league.
