Foreign Minister Taliban Amir Khan Muttaqi said on Sunday that some elements in Pakistan are trying to cause problems during the ongoing clashes on the border with Afghanistan.
The Minister also warned Pakistan that Afghanistan has the ability to protect his boundaries if someone does not want to maintain peace and the country also has other ways.
“The inhabitants of Pakistan and those who rule there mostly want peace relations with Afghanistan. But several parts of Pakistan are trying to worsen the situation. Afghanistan will continue to protect its sovereignty, Muttaqi said at a Sunday press conference.

The remarks came after Pakistan allegedly confiscated 19 Afghan military functions and “terrorist hiding places” in response to what he called “unprovoked” attacks of Afghan forces in border areas, while Kabul claimed that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 others were injured.

The Ministry of Defense led by the Taliban confirmed the attacks early on Sunday and said that its forces had performed “retaliation and successful operations”.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the main spokesman of the Taliban government, said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and about 30 others were injured during the operations on Saturday evening.

He said that nine Afghan soldiers were killed and 16 others were injured in operations.
The spokesman said the operation was stopped at midnight after Qatar and Saudi Arabia’s requests, she added.
What did Mohsin Naqvi said?
Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called Taliban attacks on the border posts “unprovoked” and accused them of shooting on civilians.
“Shooting with Afghan forces on the civilian population is an obvious violation of international laws. Pakistan’s brave forces have given an immediate and effective reaction that no provocation will be tolerated,” he said.
He said that Pakistani forces are alert and Afghanistan is answered “stones for bricks”.
