On Sunday in a sharp political crossing, the Foreign Minister for Railways V. Somann criticized the main Minister Siddaraiahaha that he became a “train that missed a village station”.
“Old Siddaramaiaha is lost. It can take 10 steps forward, but then retreats by 50 steps back under pressure,” he said, responding to the media questions in Kalaburaggi about the Hemavati link Canal project in Tumacur.
The Central Minister accused the state government of stagnation and political protectionism and condemned the government of Congress for the implication of farmers who are against the project.
“The state government behaves like stagnant water, trying to calm down and punish others unfairly. Why are poor farmers focused on criminal cases? What did the government do? irrigation.
Mr. Somanna said he said on the railway projects in Karnataka that he was declared in the budget of 7,654 Cror in the budget of 2025-26.
“During the upa Government, Karnataka Got An Insignificant Amount for Railway Projects. Now, The Amount Has CrossSed ₹ 7,000 Crore. Vande Bharat Express Trains Are Already Running Across 13 Districts in State. Between Mangaluru and Bengaluru and Belagavi and Bengaluru.
Mr Somanna said that the acknowledging of the fact that rail services were increasingly distorting towards higher class passengers to focus on air -conditioned coaches, Indian railways will soon introduce 10,000 new general coaches to better serve ordinary passengers.
Mr. Somanna also noted that Indian railways raise significant savings of approximately 18 000 GBP Crore through electrification and promised that all new railway lines will be launched as electrified routes to ensure sustainability and cost efficiency.
“Up to 44,000 km of railway lines have doubled over the last 10 years. The electrification of several routes has led to significant savings, estimated at 17,000 crore per 18,000 crore, while helping to reduce air pollution. Of the 300 AMRIT Bharat railway stations, 61 is located in Karnataka,” he said.
In response to comparison with the UPA government, Mr. Somanna pointed out that during the fiscal year 2009-2010, 11,500 GBP was spent for doubling the projects. On the other hand, the current government has only assigned the CRORE 70,000 GBP only in the fiscal year of 2025-26, saying it claims that it shows a much stronger obligation to develop railways than previous administration.
