The arrest of six people, including some of the Tamil Nadu, in connection with theft six months ago by more than 17 kg of gold worth 13 GBP Crore from the NYMATI branch in India in the Davangere district, revealed that the accused was planning a robbery for six to seven months as he watched the criminal series on OTT and social media.

Some natives from Madurai
All accused by the police, including the main accused Vijaykumar, 30, are the first perpetrators. From the accused, Vijaykumar, his brother Ajay Kumar (28) and his brother -in -law Paramanda (30 years), they are natives of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, but in the last few years they have operated sweet products in NOMAT.
Other accusations are Abheesheka, 23, Chandra, 23 and Manjunath, 32 years and are natives of Nyamam.
Mr. Ravikanthe Gowda said that Vijaykumar planned a robbery in revenge, because his loan request for 15 lakh and his brother was rejected by the bank.
During the interrogation, the defendant admitted that monitoring a series of crimes related to bank robbery on OTT platforms and various social media platforms to plan burglary.
The tools needed for crime such as gas cutter, gloves and other objects have been obtained several months in advance. Vijaykumar admitted that he was monitoring a series of crime more than 15 times, and the accused also performed exercise at least three times to make the plan perfectly.
Mr. Ravikanthe Gowda said that the accused was burning 26 October 2024 and transported stolen gold in the car, which was parked 3 km from the bank.
Interestingly, the accused carried out a special púje before and after burglary and after the burglary was held aside. After the robbery, they stayed back in Nyam and they did their business as if nothing had happened, IGP said.

The defendant hid the cabinet containing stolen gold in the 30-century irrigation in Uzalambatti in the Madurai district in Tamil Nadu.
