A deputy director of the social welfare department from Tumakuru on Friday reportedly ended his life in the office where he was working in Pavagada after recording a video of harassment by his senior officer.
The deceased was identified as Mallikarjunaiah GE, a native of Gundarlahalli near Pavagada. Police have charged Krishnappa, Joint Director of Social Welfare Department, Tumakuru, a senior officer named by Mallikarjunaiah in the video, under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for abetting suicide.
