Social media influencer booked for sexual harassment in Bengaluru

The Annapoorneshwari Nagar police have registered an FIR against Kannada social media influencer Manju, who is popularly known for his catchphrase ‘Amuku Dumuku Manja’, on charges of sexual harassment, abusive behavior and intimidation.

According to the complaint, the alleged incident took place a few days ago while promoting a pub where Manju allegedly consumed alcohol and misbehaved with the staff.

The complainant alleged that the influencer held the woman’s hand, pulled her towards him and asked her “what’s her price”. According to the complaint, he allegedly forced another woman to take a selfie with him, and when she refused, he verbally abused her using obscene language.

The complainant alleged that after a video regarding the incident was posted on social media, Manju called and threatened to die.

His mother is also accused of calling the complainant and verbally abusing them.

Based on the complaint, the police registered an FIR under Sections 74, 79, 352, 75(1), 75(2), 75(3) and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police said they are investigating the allegations and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
