
Social media accounts of several Pakistani celebrities were again generated on Thursday (July 3, 2025), hours after briefly accessible users in India-Primal, which caused sharp responses across social media platforms.
Some of the previously limited profiles became visible on Wednesday (July 2, 2025), reportedly due to a technical defect. However, after the problem was alerted to the authorities, the content was again geo-deposited and is no longer accessible in India.
After a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Ministry of the Interior of the Union recommended blocking 16 YouTube channels based in Pakistan. These were accused of spreading provocative and communal sensitive content, false stories and misinformation focused on India, its armed forces and security agencies.
The list of banned YouTube channels includes prominent media such as news news, ary news, sama TV, Bol News and Geo News, along with other channels such as Irshad Bhatti, Raftar, Pakistani references, Sama Sports and Raaziam and Raaziam.
In addition, social media profiles of Pakistani public personalities – including actors Mahaira Khan, Saba Qamar, Ahad Raza Mir, Danish Taimoor, Yumna, Yumna Zaidi, Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane and Hania as Shahid Afridi, Mohamad, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan, Shanwan. Masood, Hasan Ali, Nášeem Shah, Imam-Hul-Haq, Shadab Khan and Shoaib Akhtar-Remain Geo-Blocked in India.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also issued an Over-the-Top (OTT), media streaming services and digital intermediaries in India, and ordered them to stop web series, films, songs, podcasts and other forms of media content from Pakistan.
Counseling cited the reflections on national security and stated: “Several terrorist attacks in India were established to have cross -border ties with a Pakistani state and non -state actors … 22 April, a terrorist attack in Pahalgam led to killing several Indians, one Nepalese citizen and injuries and injuries …”.
Citation of Part III of the Rules of Information Technology (intermediary instructions and ethical code of digital media), 2021, the Ministry underlined the liability of content publishers on OTT platforms. It was also referred to by Rule 3 (1) (a). B) Part II IT rules, 2021, which stipulates that intermediaries must ensure that users record or share content that “threatens unity, integrity, defense, security or sovereignty, friendly relations with foreign states or public order”.
