In November 2025, shortly after the Indian women’s cricket team clinched the World Cup, the wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhan and music composer Palash Muchhal was unexpectedly postponed. Reports suggested a breakdown in their relationship on the eve of the ceremony.
The initial delays were attributed to Smriti’s father Srinivas falling ill. Soon after, Palash Muchhal was hospitalized due to severe stress. With concerns on both sides, the families agreed to postpone the wedding. After the postponement, rumors of alleged infidelity on the part of Muchhal spread on the Internet. His family strongly denied the claims, calling the speculation baseless and damaging.
Both Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal subsequently issued statements confirmation of their decision to end the relationship. Despite this, a video recently surfaced showing an apparent reconciliation between their families.
The footage shows Smriti’s father with Palash’s sister Palak Muchhal and her husband Mithoon outside a restaurant in Mumbai. Palak is seen greeting Srinivas by touching his feet and receiving his blessings before leaving.
The video sparked debate among fans, with some suggesting a possible reunion while others dismissed it as fake or outdated. Some viewers speculated that the clip may have been filmed while the couple were still together.
India Today has not yet been able to verify the authenticity of the video. Neither Smriti Mandhana nor Palash Muchhal have commented on the video yet.
MANDHANA EXCELLENCE IN 2026
Smriti continued to be fully focused on the field after the outside noise as she was a key player for India and RCB in the Women’s Premier League.
She scored 377 runs in nine WPL matches as RCB lifted the title and won BCCI Women’s Player of the Year Award for her performance in India last year.
