Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman BR Naidu has taken strong exception to the alleged dirty video doing the rounds on social media and warned of serious action against those spreading misinformation campaign against him.
Addressing a media conference here on Sunday, he said there was nothing objectionable in the video, but his critics were drawing unnecessary conclusions from it.
Clarification to the press was sought by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, YSRCP Tirupati district president and former TTD president in the video.
Mr. Reddy also demanded the resignation of Mr. BR Naidu, saying that never in the 94-year history of TTD has a “tainted” person headed the temple’s trust board.
Reacting strongly to the allegations, the Chairman stated that the woman in the video was their family friend of 30 years and they were in Shirdi on a pilgrimage.
“Photos related to the trip have been misused along with morphed images in a video in circulation,” he claimed, asserting that he would take necessary action against those spreading a smear campaign against him.
Mr. BR Naidu recalled that Mr. Karunakar Reddy had demanded his resignation since taking over and rejected as “uncivilized” his attempts to tarnish his image with such acts.
