The great Sky-Walk bridge at the top of Kailasagiri, near the titanic view in Visakhapatnam, is offered as the longest tourist attraction in India, is scheduled to inaugurate either next week or later this month, if the waiting works are completed.
The “load test” and the tricolor -like lighting awaits the design.
Bridge, which is built exclusively with imported German glass and steel, is 862 feet above the ground and 1,000 feet above sea level. It offers tourists a breathtaking view of Bengal on one side and the city and eastern Ghats on the other.
SSM Shipping & Logistics of Visakhapatnam has taken over the project based on public-grind Partnership (PPP), with technical support of Bharat Mata Ventures of Kerala, known for building the famous Vagamon Glass Bridge in this state. Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) is a part of the project on behalf of the State Government.
“Vocational engineers will perform a load test on Sunday (September 7) or Monday (September 8). We can complete the waiting works in a few days. With a glass span of 55 meters, it is the longest suspended glass bridge in India. The length of the vagamon glass bridge is 38 meters,” Logistics.

The 7 GBP bridge was made of three layers of tempered laminated glass imported from Germany, said Rajesh. “Each glass has a thickness of 40 mm. It has 40 tonnes of steel supports and lasts a load of up to 500 kg per square meter, allowing more than 100 people to stand on the end deck at the end,” Mr. Rajesh said, adding that the bridge will last up to 250 km / h.
“For security reasons, however, only 40 visitors will be allowed at the same time for about 5-10 minutes. We plan to charge 250 to 300 GBP per person compared to 500 GBP per head, which are collected in the Vagamon device,” said Rajesh.
“This Sky-Walk Glass Bridge will certainly become a new and new symbol of Indian tourism. We are convinced that it attracts national and international tourists and inserts Visakhapatnam on the world tourism map.
