Škoda Auto India plans to introduce 10 products in 2026

With a 107% increase in sales of 72,665 units in 2025, Škoda Auto India plans to maintain the momentum in 2026 by introducing 10 products, mostly upgrades.

“If I had to sum up the year 2025 in one word, it would be transformational. It celebrated 25 years of the Škoda brand in India and also proved to be our strongest year yet. Year-on-year, we significantly increased volumes and expanded our footprint to 183 cities with more than 325 customer touchpoints. More importantly, we changed the way we operate and how the brand Autoish, Skoda is perceived, Skoda, Sko. interview.

“We’ve moved from being largely seen as a city-specific brand to becoming much more accessible and relevant across markets. Our market rating has improved significantly from 11 to 7 and we’ve entered several new areas. These achievements give us a solid foundation into 2026,” he said.

Mr Gupta said the focus would be on deepening outreach, strengthening service coverage and continuing to build trust.

“We are working to expand our market coverage closer to 90%, supported by a strong product roadmap and structural improvements that enable us to deliver better value to customers,” he said.

On the product line, Mr. Gupta said, “We will expand the Kylaq range with new variants such as Classic Plus and Prestige Plus, while the Kylaq Sportline will follow later in the year.”

“We will also be introducing a major upgrade to the Kushaq now, along with a similar update for the Slavia later in the year. In addition, some globally iconic products will return, including the next batch of Octavia RS and the introduction of the Kodiaq RS. There will also be feature enhancements across the portfolio, and another global product launch is planned for later this year,” he said.

While the company plans to introduce electric vehicles, the timing has not yet been decided.

“The question for us is not so much timing, but which electric vehicle makes sense for India. For electric cars to be successful here, they need to be at the heart of the market in terms of pricing, and that requires a high level of localization. We are working on that,” Gupta said.

“Skoda has a proven electric portfolio globally, including products such as Enyaq and Elroq, which are among the best-selling electric cars in Europe. However, given the current tax structure and uncertainty around free trade agreements, rolling out fully-built units in India at this stage does not make strategic sense,” he said.

Skoda Auto India on Tuesday unveiled the new Kushaq, for which pre-bookings have begun, with deliveries scheduled for late March 2026. The Kushaq has been the driving force behind the company’s growth in India.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, said: “The updated Kushaq reinforces the importance of India as a stepping stone for Škoda Auto’s strategy to grow our international markets. The Kushaq quickly established itself with customers in India and as an export item to ASEAN and the Middle East.”

“We are now setting another benchmark for the overall model offering. This update includes Modern Solid design elements as well as a wide range of improvements in infotainment and driver assistance functions that offer even greater comfort and safety,” he said.

“Together with the Kodiaq and Kylaq, Škoda Auto offers a fleet of SUVs on the Indian market that caters to important segments and price categories. Taking the Kushaq to the next level creates an opportunity for further demand and further growth in our most important market outside of Europe,” he added.

Mr. Gupta said, “At Skoda, our mission is to democratize European technology and make it accessible to customers across India. Today, the boundaries between cities and regions are blurring and aspirations are converging. We fulfill these aspirations by introducing products that meet these changing customer preferences.”

“Today, with the launch of the new Kushaq, we continue to build on our legacy as a top-of-the-range ‘true automatic’ in our portfolio, offering an SUV that comes standard with the most important safety, comfort, design and comfort features, spearheaded by our proven European engineering,” he added.
