WA former hygienic worker who claimed that he had buried many bodies in Dharmastale, about 80 kilometers from the mangalur in coastal carnation, discussing the “mysterious deaths” of people in the temple city regained traction.
After some dithering, the state government set up a special investigative team (SIT), led by the CEO of the Police (Inner Security), Mohanta to explore the demands of a sanitary worker.
The complainant claimed that from 1995 to 2014 he worked in Dharmastale. He said he buried men and women during his service period, as well as minors who were raped and murdered. He said that for crimes, “powerful people” are forcing him to bury his bodies. He claimed that he fled from the place together with his family members when a member of his own family was sexually attacked. The worker said he decided to tell the story now from pure regret. He also asked to be exhumed, identified and identified and due to decent farewell.
The indictment to initiate the process of exhuting bodies, advocates representing hygiene, activists and public intellectuals, including the former judge of the Supreme Court V. Gopaly Gowda, accused the government to set up SIT.
In Dharmastale, there has been a chat of “mysterious deaths” for more than five decades. Some even claimed that many dead were devotees who ended their lives in the hope that they would “reach heaven”.
The outrage at the deaths occurred in October 2012 after the second year before the university student, Soujanya, was kidnapped, raped and murdered. Fury has turned into a movement seeking justice for Soujanyu. In parallel, the temple authorities also held demonstrations to eliminate their involvement in Soujany’s murder or one of the earlier deaths.
The protesters also demanded a separate police station in Dharmastale. Surprisingly, the temple city did not have one despite a substantial population along with a floating crowd of pilgrims.
The state government submitted an investigation into the murder of a criminal investigation department and then in November 2013 to the Central Office for the Investigation (CBI) and in 2016 set up the Dharmastal Police Station.
On June 16, 2023, Santosh Rao, a lonely accused in the case of the murder of Soujanya, liberated the CBI Special Court in Bengalur. Earlier, on the basis of the request of the parents of Soujanya, the court conducted an investigation into the accusation against three persons associated with the temple in the kidnapping, rape and murder of Soujanya. He found no substance in the accusations. The CBI Court concluded that the preliminary investigation was shabby and ordered the State Committee for Liberation to initiate measures against police officers Ering and the official who took the post mortem.
The parents of Soujanya and Rao filed a separate appeal before the High Court in Karnataka and were looking for de Novo/reinvestics of the case. The divisional bench of the High Court in Karnataka, August 30, 2024, postponed a lawsuit about reinvestics, said it is “doubtful that evidence that cannot be collected at the Gold hour is still available”. The Court also pointed to the initial investigation and ordered the State Government to speed up the process of taking measures against Eing’s officers, and told Rao that the freedom was to initiate independent steps to compensate.
Soujany’s mother, uncle and activists continue to demand that the government do everything in her power to watch real culprits. They created a group of WhatsApp, where the members were asked to continue in demand to follow the real accused in the case of murder.
A few days after the hygienic worker registered his complaint at the police station Dharmastal, Sujath Bhat, former CBI employee and mother Ananya Bhat, a medical student who disappeared in Dharmstale, approached the police. She was looking for their help to see if Ananya’s body was one of those supposedly buried by a hygienic worker. If he finds the remnants of his daughter, she will finally be able to make the last ceremonies, Dakshina told Kannad’s superintendent K. Arno.
All eyes are now on SIT to provide answers to “mysterious death” in Dharmastale.
