
Students and Faculty of Government Boys of High School, Caraman, form the human wall in memory of 60 years Mathilukal, created by the famous writer Vaikom Mohammad Basheer.
Since the publication of the legendary writer Vaikom Mohammad Basheer, Mathilukal (Walls) has been celebrated for sixty years. In memory of this literary milestone, students and faculty of government boys built the High School of Karaman on the school complex on the eve of the anniversary of the writer’s death symbolic “Wall of Love”.
On the school terrain was created a wall in the shape of a figure “60” and as a visual tribute spread to the entrance to school. Students, local representatives, teachers, Block Resource Center (BRC), non-conducting staff, graduates, auto-ricksha drivers, locals and parents met to create a living, symbolic wall and honor the spirit of unity and love, which he wrote so passionately. In addition, the memory took place under the tree in the school courtyard – symbolic Basheer’s deep love for nature and living beings.
The novel was first published in book form in 1965. In particular, the only novel remained by Basheer written in Thiruvananthapurama. The handwriting manuscript of work was lost, originally written for Kaumudi Weekly in 1964. This made Basheer rewrite the whole story in just ten days, according to the historian MG Sasibhooshan.

The school planned year -round events, including new reading, literary gatherings, literary trips and inter -school quiz competitions Basheer.
