A six -year -old boy was killed and a teacher and a student of the girl were injured when the concrete plate held the main gate of the government school, which on Monday (28 July 2025) collapsed in the Rajasthan district of Jaisalmer. The victim, Arbaz Khan, who died on the spot, arrived at school to pick up his sister, a school student.
The disaster occurred only three days after part of the government upper elementary school in the Jhalawar district, which remained inside and remained seven children dead. Monday’s incident took place at the Girl’s Senior High School in Poonam Nagar in Jaisalmer Ramgarh, where the gate of the school was reported in a dilapidated state.
Panic gripped the school when teachers and villagers rushed to save those buried under a little. Arbaz succumbed to his injury on the spot, while the teacher Ashok Kumar Soni, who was pulled out of the debris, suffered a fracture.
Another student of the girl got injured in her head and face. Mr. Soni was transported to the district hospital, where his condition is stable.

Arbaz’s family members and relatives organized with the body of Dharna outside the school, expressed anger and demanded justice. The officials arrived at school to talk to the protesters, after which the body was moved to the morgue of the local hospital for Mortem.
Collector Jaisalmer Pratap Singh Nathawat said that gram Vikas Adhikari, who was previously informed of the poor school status, was suspended with an immediate effect on “duty drainage”. “We will provide all possible help to the family of the deceased boy according to government standards,” Nathawat said.
Minister of Education Madan Dilawar said that all district education officials have been issued instructions to prevent these incidents from being repeated. “Now there is a season of rains and there are severe precipitation in several places … Everyone must be extremely cautious,” said Mr. Dilawar.
The leader of the veteran congress and former main Minister Ashok Gehlot, who responded to the incident, said that the repetition of the child’s death at school should be a matter of the state government. He called on Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to take quick steps and ensure that no other child’s life is lost in such incidents.
The state government has already declared holidays for schools in 11 districts by Tuesday, in the middle of the prediction of heavy rain. District collectors also conduct a nationwide survey to identify dilapidated school buildings, after which dangerous structures will be closed and demolished.
