Six Paying Guests (PG) establishments were sealed by the Central City Corporation on Friday for allegedly not following basic hygiene standards. The company has imposed fines of ₹1.96 crore on these establishments.
Medical officer Shivakumar along with doctors from Chickpet and Shivajinagar conducted the inspections. As part of the drive, officials inspected 204 facilities located in Shivajinagar and Chickpet Assembly constituencies. Inspections focused on the availability of basic facilities, including safe drinking water, overall cleanliness, kitchen hygiene, proper sanitary facilities, fire prevention measures, installation of CCTV cameras and compliance with food safety standards, including FSSAI certification.
Officials said six establishments that did not meet hygiene and safety standards were sealed, while several others were fined for deficiencies. Notices were also issued to all the operators to rectify the identified violations within seven days and ensure compliance with the prescribed standards.
