
At least six workers were killed and several others injured in an explosion at a mushroom factory in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar-Bhatapara district on Thursday, officials said.
The incident took place at the Sponge Iron Real Ispat factory in Bakulahi village of Bhatapara rural area, a police official said.
After being alerted, the police and senior administrative officials rushed to the spot and started rescue operations, he said.

Three people were killed when two trucks collided on a highway in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday, police said.
The accident took place at 3.30 am near Ratesara village under Charama police station limit on National Highway-30.
Both trucks collided head-on. The impact of the collision was so strong that one truck driver was trapped inside the shattered cab and had to be extricated using an earthmoving machine, a police official said.
Two of the deceased have been identified as mini truck driver Hori Lal Sahu (33) and helper Ajay Sahu (30), while the other truck driver who was killed is yet to be identified, he said.
After being alerted, the police reached the spot and took the bodies for post-mortem.
The accident is under investigation, police added.
