Three doctors in service at the Hospital The District Hospital were reportedly attacked by patient participants on Friday midnight.
Police in City II said that local youth, Mogileshwar, arrived at the emergency department of the hospital with hand injuries, accompanied by a group of five collaborators identified as Sharif, Loket, Yashwanth, Vinsh and Sandeep.
The youth claimed that doctors had postponed treatment and raised an argument with three doctors – Rakshit, Saran and Yogesh. The youth reportedly abused and intimidated them while Mogileshwar attacked Dr. Rakshit. Later, when two other doctors – Manoj Kumar and Mohan – came to rescue Dr. Rakshit, the group reportedly returned and physically attacked the trio. The police said they verified the CCTV shots in hospital premises.
Police, who worked on the complaint of Dr. Manoj, she registered a case against six young people. Inspector D. Nettikantaiah said one of them was taken into custody and searching for the other accused.
