The special investigation team (SIT) is ready to appeal to strict imprisonment for the rest of the natural life of the convicted person, during the hearing of the quantum of punishment for Prajwal Revann on Saturday.
Special prosecutor Jagadeesha stated that the court had condemned Prajwal Revanna for all accusations against him. He was charged according to sections 376 (2) (k) (he was in the position of control or dominance over a woman, committing rape for such a woman), 376 (2) (n) (N) (repeated rape to the same woman) 354a (sexual harassment), 354b 506), 506), 506), 506), 506), 506), 554c), 506), 506, 554c), 354c), 354c), 35.
A person convicted under Section 376 (2) of the IPC “will be punished by strict imprisonment for a period that must not be less than 10 years, but can be expanded to imprisonment for life, which means imprisonment for the rest of the natural life of that person”, reads IPC.
Sources said that Prajwal was convicted according to Section 376 (2) of the IPC, probably will receive a sentence for at least 10 years.
