Keraly on Thursday was a special investigative team (SIT) to probate unauthorized removal of golden copper covers “Dwarapalaka idols” in the Sabarimala Temple.
SIT will be headed by H. Venekatesh, another CEO, branch and law and order. The investigation will be carried out by S. Sasidharan, Auxiliary Director (Administration), Police Academy of Kieral, Thrissur. Other members of SIT are Aneesh, police inspector, Vakathanam, Kottayam police station; Biju Radhakrishnan, police inspector, police station Kaippamangalam, Thrissur Rural; and Sunil Kumar, Sub-In-Inveper assistant, cyber station, Thiruvananthapuram.
This step is governed by the order issued by the Keral High Court in connection with the report of the special Commissioner Sabarimal, which emphasized the removal of gold coverage without the knowledge of the court. The team was ordered to explore all aspects of the incident and fully meet the instructions issued by the High Court in the Provisional Order.
