According to official estimates, a total of 19,33,313 census forms have been distributed in the district till Friday (14 November 2025 by 02:00 PM).
District Collector G. Priyanka said the process has been expedited. The maximum number of census forms were distributed in Kunnathunad Assembly constituency (1,61,673) which is 85.1% of the total voters. The forms have been distributed to more than 80% voters in Perumbavoor, Angamaly and Vypeen, according to the release.
A total of 2,325 Cabin Level Officers (BLOs) – one per cabin – have been deployed for field work in the district. A special meeting will be called to speed up the process in urban areas and seek the cooperation of residents’ associations and apartment owners’ associations, it said.
‘Backup Firearms’
Meanwhile, the district collector on Friday asked all gun owners to surrender their firearms to the police ahead of the December local polls. License holders are required to surrender their weapons at the relevant police stations before the elections. Those who fail to comply with the directive will face prosecution. On Saturday, a screening committee meeting will be held at the collectorate regarding gun owners who have requested an exception to this rule.
