
Former Star Manchester United and England David Beckham won on Saturday 14th June recognition of his contributions as a football player and his charity service.
It is an honorary title that gives British citizens for their immense success across various aspects, including sport, politics, art and others. It was a practice that dates back to the Middle Ages.
The former English star had a remarkable career in the field, where he played for several main clubs at the time. He went through the academy for Manchester United, where he played for 11 years. Since then, he has moved to many large clubs throughout Europe, including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
In International football Beckham gathered 115 caps for the English national team, where also on 59 occasions with a captain. He also performed for three lions in three different editions of the World Cup. As a footballer, he gathered the main honor in several clubs with whom he was in Europe. He won six Premier League titles, one Champions League title and two FA Cup titles with Manchester United. He also won league titles with Real Madrid and PSG.
The midfielder still remains an iconic player who remembers his technical skills and his contributions, which came in decisive moments. One of his most famous goals is a free kick that scored against Greece to move them to the 2002 World Cup final.
Beckham made a statement after the knightly was awarded and thanked everyone for his success in and outside the field.
“He played, and my country’s captain was the biggest privilege of my career and literally came true for a child’s dream,” Beckham said in a statement.
“Outside the pitch, I was lucky to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and cooperate with incredible organizations that support communities in need and inspire the next generation,” he added.
“I am so lucky to do the work I do, and I am grateful for being recognized for a job that gives me so much fulfillment. It takes a while to dive, but I’m extremely proud and it is such an emotional moment to share with my family,” he concluded.
Football aside, a 50 -year -old man had several charity posts in various fields. The highlight is the Association with the International Emergency Fund for the International Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which began in 2005 along with several other charity organizations.
