SIPCOT industrial complex to be set up near Musiri, says Nehru

A new SIPCOT industrial complex will come up near Musiri to create employment opportunities for the youth, Urban Administration Minister KN Nehru announced on Monday.

Speaking at the centenary celebrations of the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Musiri, Mr. Nehru said the proposed complex would be set up on a plot of land near the Musiri–Thuraiyur road, on the lines of the SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Manapparai, to generate employment opportunities in the region.

Highlighting the government’s development initiatives in Tiruchi district, Mr. Nehru said infrastructure projects worth ₹34,000 crore have been approved in the last five years.

He said the 24-acre century-old school would see improvements, including the development of a large sports arena and other infrastructural facilities for students.

Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said centenary celebrations are being organized across the state in government schools. So far, 2,211 schools have completed 100 years, he said.

During the event, the ministers honored the family who donated land for the school, benefactors who contributed to its development and students who secured high marks in Class X and XII public examinations by presenting them with mementos.

Musiri MLA N. Thiyagarajan, District Revenue Officer R. Balaji, Musiri Sub-Collector Sushree Suvangi Khuntia, Education Director K. Krishnapriya and Musiri Municipal Chairman Kalaichelvi Sivakumar were present.
